$50 - Pay for a month of healthy activities for one patient such as yoga or aerobic dance.

$100 - Pay for a health education class on topics such as diabetes prevention, heart health, nutrition, and breast cancer awareness.

$150 - Provide a mammogram for one uninsured woman.

$250 - Provide a cervical cancer screening and pap test for one woman.

$5,000 - Help underwrite El Rio's "Cover the Uninsured Health Fair," where community-based organizations share free information about their programs. Attended by 1,000 uninsured people each year, the health fair offers free health screenings, social services, information on outreach programs plus free giveaway items.

$10,000 - Support the work of one "promotora" - a community based health advocate - to encourage women to get a mammogram. Regular mammograms have been shown to significantly reduce mortality associated with breast cancer by detecting problems early. Promotores are trained by residents at the University of Arizona to provide in-home education about breast cancer, self-breast exam, and mammography.
